Well, I didn’t win the election.
But I am walking away from this contest with a lot gained. I have won the trust, friendship and help
of hundreds of neighbors within State House district 95. They have prayed, gave and toiled for no
payment save for the hope of better reprentation in government. I wish to thank everyone who helped.
Your belief in me stirs up such emotions that I often pause and count my blessings. I am truly a
blessed man. God has given me a good wife, a good family and a good name.
I want to make a special thanks to all the Democrats who voted for me. There are two Democrats for
every Republican in this district. I knew from the beginning that the only way I would become a State
Representative was if the Democats gave me their vote of approval. Many of you did. Thank you for
your willingness to make an exception to vote for me. In this you have truly proved that you have an
open mind.
I have been asked about when I’ll run again. Many have encouraged me to do so, even suggesting
various offices. My answer is . . . Right now it’s not time for me to make that decision. For me and
my family this is a season of resting, family time, and catching up on neglected home maintance.
When everything has settled and my heart is again quited before God, then I hope to hear what God
has for me next.
